Dr. Jaime Cruz-Ortiz is an Assistant Professor of Spanish. He came to Pittsburg State University in the Fall of 2009. Before that, he worked as a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma, where he was co-founder of Tierra Tinta, an annual conference on Hispanic, Latin American, and Luso-Brazilian literatures and film. At OU, Jaime was awarded the Provost's prestigious Graduate Assistant Teaching Award in 2008. He has three children: Ismael, dominique, and Séneca.
