Mechanical Engineering Technology
Student Organizations
Manufacturing students have the opportunity to participate in organizations and be a part of national competitions. Students do consistently well at NASA's "The Great Moonbuggy Race" national competition, including first place finishes in 1992, 2001 and 2006. Additionally, students participate in SAE Mini-Baja competitions.
The following are organizations and other groups available to our students:
- Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)
- Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
- American Foundrymen's Society (AFS)
- Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
- PSU's Formula SAE Web Site - New competition for PSU in 2006-2007
