Admission to Teacher Education
Admission to the Teacher Education program must be obtained in order to complete restricted coursework (12 credit hours of method courses for elementary education majors) and the Professional Semester (student teaching).Admission to the Teacher Education program must be obtained in order to complete restricted coursework (12 credit hours of method courses for elementary education majors) and the Professional Semester (student teaching).
Requirements include...
- Completion of all general education CORE courses with a minimum 2.75 GPA (See underlined courses on program guide.)
- Completion with a "C" or higher of either CURIN 261 "Explorations in Education" or CURIN 307 " Clinical Experience" for transfer students with an "Introduction to Education" course. NOTE: Field experiences from other community colleges or universities must be validated with a signed evaluation. All students are required to have a minimum of one clinical experience (pre-lab) from PSU.

- Four recommendations from college/university faculty
- Passing scores in PPST or C-BASE basic skills tests in math, reading, and writing or have an ACT composite score of 24 or higher
