Dr. Guosong (Oliver) Shao joined the Department of Communication in the Fall of 2009 after receiving his PhD from the University of Alabama. His teaching areas include advertising, public relations, mass communication, and international communication. His research has gradually concentrated on political communication (including political advertising and political public relations), media law and regulation, and media economics & management; and he has published several research articles on these issues. Prior to entering the academic world, he ever worked for three years in New York City as a reporter and a marketing specialist as well.
