Erica Edwards is one of the newest additions to the Communication Department. Though she is new to the classroom, she is no stranger to the field. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she comes to Pittsburg State University from KOAM-TV where she was the main news anchor. Before that, she worked as a reporter and weekend anchor for FOX 14-TV. She has also worked for television news stations and an NPR radio station in Pennsylvania, and at CBS News in New York.  During her time at CBS, she helped with the production of various documentaries for the cable network A&E, including the completion of the two-hour special "Mediums." She also assisted in the live finale for a reality show on the Cooking Network, and aided in the production of live interviews and performances for the CBS Early Show (including such names as Ringo Starr, Jessica Simpson and the Backstreet Boys).

Ms. Edwards attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, (broadcast emphasis), and a minor in Sociology. Her Master of Arts in Communication from Pittsburg State is in progress.

Outside of PSU, Ms. Edwards loves spending time with her husband and dog, Mack. Her husband is the senior minister at their church. She also is passionate about reading, writing and fitness. She teaches kickboxing and Zumba in Joplin, MO.
