Physical Chemistry of Polymers

Molecular weights of polymers and methods of determination. Structure of polymer chain. Amorphous and crystalline states, viscoelasticity, kinetics. Polymer solutions and blends. Thermodynamics and statistical mechanics of polymer elasticity.
Prerequisite: CHEM 325 Organic Chemistry I or CHEM 320 Introductory Organic Chemistry and CHEM 620 Polymer Chemistry or permission of instructor.
