President David Hartman called the March 12, 2008 meeting of the Pittsburg State University Classified Senate to order in the Inaugural room.

Senators Present: Jill Allen (Secretary), Tim Anderson, Sue Ann Barnes, John Bartels, Wylie DeGruson, Philip Deierling, Tina Gregory, David Hartman (President), Pam Henderson, Leigh Ann Martin, Tracey Mussa (President-elect), Kathy Neely, Josh Tucker, Mary Wolfe (Treasurer), Stacy Wolownik

Senators Absent: Debbie Sullins, Jerry Duvall, John Foster, Kathi Lunday

Non-Senators Present: Treva Sherman, Ruby Ashmore, Becky Moore

Minutes: Kathy Neely was at the February meeting. Motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the minutes as corrected.

Treasurer’s report: The budget account for February had a beginning balance of $923.34 with expenditures of 639.00 for an ending balance of $284.34. The donation account had a beginning balance of $30.66 with a donation of $.44, and dividend distribution of $ .10 for an ending balance of $31.10Motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the February treasurer’s report.

Position Paper: No report.

Election Committee: There are still two at-large vacancies. If you know someone interested in serving, please contact Jill Allen x.4466 or jallen@pittstate.edu.

Legislative Committee: See new business.

Public Relations: No report.

Advocacy Committee: No report.

Other University Committees: February 14th student Publications Board Meeting. March 13th Student Recreation Meeting. March 28th, will be a vote to raise tuition 5%.

Senate President’s Report from Meetings with Dr. Bryant: No report.

Legislative Update: No report.

New Business:

FIRE ALARM went off.
