Technology Workshops for Children
The Department of Engineering Technology offers summer workshops to children, ages 9-14, which allow them to explore different areas of technology with hands-on experiences. PSU faculty conduct the workshops within the laboratories and classrooms of the Kansas Technology Center.
Once again this year we are running the Robotics Workshop back to back with the Construction and Plastics workshops. The Robotics Workshop will run in the morning and the Construction and Plastics Workshops in the afternoon.
We will provide a supervised place to eat lunch for students that want to attend both afternoon and morning sessions. Those planning on staying during the lunch hour will need to bring a sack lunch.
The price is $90.00 for each Robotics and Construction session students wish to attend. If students want to participate in the full week of both activities, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the total would be $180.00 for the week.
Adventures in Robotics is a series of hands-on workshops for children conducted each summer by the Pittsburg State University faculty. Children must be 9 years old by July 1st in order to enroll, with a recommended upper limit of 13. All sessions will be held in the laboratories and facilities of the Kansas Technology Center on the east side of the Pittsburg State University campus.Topics to be covered include the following: teamwork, programming, brainstorming, construction techniques, robotic basics, and electro-mechanics.
