Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences
At Pittsburg State University, we offer student centered curricula taught by highly qualified faculty in a wide variety of disciplines. The primary emphasis on our campus is on teaching, and our faculty pride themselves on giving personal attention to students in an atmosphere in which much attention is given to keeping class sizes small enough to allow for meaningful personal interaction with students.
Our faculty are also scholars, researchers, and experts in their disciplines, giving our students exposure to the most current theories and methodologies in a wide variety of specialties. Students who graduate from these programs are well prepared for employment or for further, more advanced study in either graduate or professional school.
The College is composed of fourteen departments. Most College of Arts and Sciences departments offer a choice of majors or emphases within the department, including the B.S.Ed. degree as well as the B.A. and B.S. degrees, and the asterisked departments offer degree programs through the Masters level. The Ed.S. degree with a concentration in some of these departments is offered at PSU by the College of Education.
