Dean
Richard Dearth is currently Interim Dean of the Kelce College of Business and a faculty member in the Department of Management and Marketing. He has taught Introduction to Business, the Legal and Social Environment of Business, and Business, Government, and Society at the graduate level at Pittsburg State since 1992. He is currently teaching legal subjects. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts and of Washburn University of Topeka School of Law with a Juris Doctorate.
Dearth practiced law for 35 years, and although he closed his practice and devotes himself full-time to teaching and administration at Pittsburg State, he is currently admitted to practice by the Kansas Supreme Court, the United States District Court, the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit. He continues to be a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is a fellow of the Kansas Bar Foundation.
Dearth was the Sam Walton Fellow for PSU Students in Free Enterprise for 2003-04 and continues to be actively involved as a member of the Board of Business Advisors for PSU SIFE.
