Reading Screening

  • Do you think that your child or student may have reading problems?
  • Do you think that your child or student might have dyslexia?
  • Are you concerned that your child or student is not performing up to his or her ability in reading?
  • If so, the Reading Screening web site can help you!
The Reading Screening web site is a service developed to assist parents, teachers, and professionals assess the reading abilities of children between the ages of 5 and 12 years of age. The results of the Reading Screening will help you to understand the strengths and weaknesses that your child or student has in relation to reading.
1 The Reading Screening was developed based on nearly two decades of research that examined the ability to identify children at risk for reading difficulties. The Reading Screening provides a detailed report of the child's reading and phonological processing skills. These skills are compared to a "normed" sample to determine specifically how well the child performed. If you are concerned about your child, student, or client's reading abilities, please visit www.ReadingScreening.org to complete the Reading Screening. Once you do, please come back to this site to determine the specific meaning of the results and some suggestions that can be used to help improve your child, student, or client's phonological processing and reading abilities.
The cost of the Reading Screening is $35.00, which helps to support the programs and services provided at the CARRD.
If you have already finished the Reading Screening, please enter the access code that can be found on the bottom of the Summary of the Assessment report. This access code allows you to gain access to the area that will help you to further interpret the meaning of the Reading Screening's Summary of the Assessment report.
