The Career Resource Center is located in 202 Horace Mann and is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended hours are announced during heavy recruitment times throughout the academic year. The Career Resource Center houses computers with Internet access, employer/recruiter information files, a complete video library, books and periodicals to assist with the job search or a future career-related decision, resume information, job search and interviewing skills information. Peer Advisors are on duty to assist you with your resume and answer questions. All students and alumni are encouraged to visit the Career Resource Center.

For more information on the Career Resource Center, e-mail jparker@pittstate.edu or phone (620) 235-4144.

Two career planning resources are also available in the Career Resource Center:

DO WHAT YOU ARE: This program differs from other career guidance programs in several important ways. This program is based on Personality Type - the innate way people naturally see the world and make decisions. Learning about your Personality Type will provide you with accurate and invaluable insights about yourself and your career-related needs. For questions and information about DO WHAT YOU ARE, e-mail jparker@pittstate.edu

ACT'S DISCOVER: Any student struggling with a career decision or wishing to do career planning can visit the Career Resource Center (202 Horace Mann Hall) to receive a token to use the DISCOVER program. DISCOVER is a career decision making/educational/career planning computer software program that leads a student through the career exploration and planning process. It has in-depth information about college majors, job and career opportunities, and financial assistance. This program by ACT is very interactive and uses both audio and video clips to inform the user. The program is made available to PSU students through a partnership grant with Pittsburg High School. For questions and information about DISCOVER, e-mail jparker@pittstate.edu
