In commemoration of April as National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Students for Violence Prevention will be hosting their first annual "Poetry Slam" on April 16 from 7-9 in the U-Club. Poems can be themed around empowerment, sexual assault viewpoints, strength, courage, and hope. Because of the sensitivity of content in these themes, we are asking that they be previewed by Students for Violence Prevention before the event. Poems can be from other authors or original. Each poem is allotted 3-5 minutes during the event. If you are interested in performing a poem, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. ALL poems must be sent before Friday April 4th. Door prizes will be given away throughout the event, and those performing poetry will be entered in to a drawing for one $50 and two $25 prizes. Contact Stephanie @ email@example.com for more information.
