Tunnel:

This program is an interactive experience designed to create an awareness of different types of oppression, and its effects, within society and the campus community.  The primary goal of the project is to create an experiential program for students, staff and faculty.  The program is supposed to challenge the senses and feeling of participants in a safe environment, allowing people to 'walk in another's shoes'.  After going through the experience, participants will have the opportunity to process what they experienced with trained counselors, as well as obtain research as to how to 'fight back' or work toward alleviating some of the oppression in the 'Area of Hope'.  Though the program is targeted to the campus community, the program is open to anyone that would like to attend.

It is open from 9am - 9pm, and is at your own pace, so for some it may take 20 minutes, others an hour, etc.

The OSD and Housing will host this event, along with 9 student organizations, on Tuesday, March 4th and Wednesday, March 5th from 9am-9pm daily in the Overman Student Center, Kansas East & West Rooms; there will also be skits performed at 7pm both days in the Crimson & Gold Ballroom around the issues addressed in the 'tunnel'.
