• Buy Your Books. Stop by the Gorilla Bookstore by Barnes
and Noble and pick up your books for the semester. Try to find
used books, but you will have to be quick to nab them; used
books are considerably less expensive than brand new books.
While you’re there, check out the selection of official
PSU apparel and memorabilia.
• Pick Up Your Parking Permit. Be sure to pick
up your parking permit from University Police and Parking Services
as soon as possible. Parking on campus without a permit can
carry a fine of up to 15 dollars for each offense.
• Hunt Down Your Classrooms. It’s a good idea to
find out beforehand where your classes will be and how long
it will take you to get from one to the next.
• See What Jobs are Available. Many students find part-time
employment both on and off campus through Student Employment,
a part of Career Services, in the Student Welcoming Center.
• Get to Know Your Roommate. It can be hard to suddenly
have to share a small space with someone you don’t know.
Spend some “quality” time with them by setting
up ground rules you both can live with. It is better to work
this out now before problems arise. After all, this person
may soon become one of your closest friends.
