Student Health Services
Pittsburg State University offers medical, counseling and nutritional services for students. Clinical services range from immediate care to physical exams, including women's/men's health services. Experience health care professionals provide triage, evaluation and treatment of a variety of medical conditions. Students with medically urgent problems are seen immediately.
The growth in enrollment and addition of staff and equipment has resulted in significant inadequacies of the physical space housing the current operations. The new student health center will allow PSU to keep up with the ever-increasing demand for health care services by students.
The funds to build the health center will come from a mix of private gifts and students fees. The university’s goal is to raise the entire project cost of 4 million from private gifts. However, because of the necessity to move the project forward, the university asked for the support of $12 per student each semester. As private gifts increase, this student fee will decrease or be eliminated.

Campus Safety
We are committed to providing the safest possible campus environment for students, faculty and staff. Residence halls feature a number of safety measures, including deadbolt and chain locks on all room doors. University Police officers, commissioned by authority of the State of Kansas, provide 24-hour-a-day patrol protection to the campus.
We take pride in our safety record and have strived to increase safety awareness levels. We have several procedures in place, including text message alerts, available to both parents and students.
