WBI Web-Based Instruction (WBI) is viewed as an innovative approach for delivering instructions to a remote audience using the Web as the medium. Also, WBI is a hypermedia-based instructional program utilizing the resources of Web technology to foster teaching and learning.
WBI components are divided into several general categories:
Content Layout
- Organize your Web pages to draw attention.
- Use discovery-based learning.
- Introduce problems to be solved or issues to be discussed.
- Provide outlines.
Design Layout
- Use simple graphics, pictures, maps, charts, and tables.
- Try to hold the students' attention.
- Use concrete shapes and obvious icons.
Functionality
- Make your Web pages easy to navigate.
- Make your Web pages learner-centered.
- Pay attention to computer platforms and browsers.
