Erin Smith, a second year music education major from Miami, OK, identifies how private support is needed to fund a Fine and Performing Arts Center.

"I based my decision in deciding which university to attend on two things:
      1) the most financial aid and
      2) a high-caliber music program and faculty.
Pittsburg State met both criteria without question, and here I am.

Over the past few years the music department has grown in both size and quality and we are reaching the physical limits of space within the department, including having to take all large-scale performances off campus. Building a Fine and Performing Arts Center will bring even more cultural events to Pittsburg and allow PSU students to perform in a state-of-the-art facility that we can proudly call our own,” says Smith.
