professional programs require prior knowledge of the profession.
As such, before you apply, you should spend time in a summer program
or preceptorship, learning about your field of interest.
Examples of such programs include shadowing
physicians, working in a hospital or pharmacy, or observing a professional
at work, though there are many others.
