Group Show: Passages |

| Passages March 4-April 1, 2004 Curatorial Statement: The exhibition Passages brings together a collective of women artists whose work explores an inclusive, subtle feminist theme of lived experiences: those events that transform women's lives. The theme of the exhibition is specific enough that each artist may investigate her own personal history, yet creates an environment that embraces and facilitates open discussions of women's concerns within broader socio-cultural contexts. Individual experiences are given meaning in relationship to those of family, friends, and colleagues in addition to social constraints. Artists in their thirties to those in their seventies made the works in this exhibition: women whose age, education, motherhood, loss of children, and professional lives among other attributes and experiences inform their day to day activities and art making practices.
