Financial Aid and Scholarships

The priority deadline for applying for financial assistance is March 1st.  PSU’s Office of Student Financial Assistance has links to the on-line Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) and information about how to apply and verify enrollment.

Pittsburg State University awards a variety of scholarships based on high academic achievement, financial need (as determined by the FAFSA), special talents, and academic major, among other things.  The scholarship application can be filled out on-line, and is due February 1st for the following academic year.  The application qualifies students to be considered for:

• General university scholarships
Departmental scholarships
• Alumni Legacy Scholarships (for students whose parent is a PSU alumnus)
  

Honors College scholarships require a separate application. 

In addition, the Office of Admission offers some admission based scholarships:

• Academic Achievement Award (for current high school grads)
• The Diversity Grant in Aid (for incoming freshmen and transfer students)
• Academic Achievement Award (for transfer students):
• Kansas All-State Academic Team (for transfer students)
• Phi Theta Kappa Recognition Award (for transfer students)
