Freshmen Admission Requirements
-Submit an Application for Admission
-Pay $30 non-refundable application fee
-Send ACT scores and an official Final High School transcript (Faxed transcripts from the school will be used for admission and scholarship consideration only. Final official mailed transcripts from the school will be required to complete your admission file.)

Kansas and out-of-state freshmen under 21 years of age
Students graduating from an accredited high school must meet one of the following criteria:
- ACT composite score of 21 or higher OR
- Rank in the top 1/3 of high school graduating class OR
- Complete the pre-college curriculum with at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (OUT-OF-STATE residents must have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale) OR
- Have 24 or more transferable college credit hours with at least a 2.0/4.0 cumulative grade point average
The Pre-college Curriculum includes:
- 4 units of English
- 3 units of Math (Algebra I and above taken in grade 9-12)
- 3 units of Natural Science (at least one must be Chemistry or Physics)
- 3 units of Social Science
- 1 unit of Computer Technology (keyboarding classes are not acceptable)
Students are encouraged to submit an application and partial high school transcript anytime after their junior year of high school. Transcripts may be mailed or faxed (620.235.6003) to the Office of Admission. Faxed transcripts from the school will be used for admission and scholarship consideration only. Official final transcripts mailed from the school will be required to complete your admission file.
Kansas Students from non-accredited high school or home school:
- ACT Composite score of 21 or higher (admission through the exception window if space permits) OR
- Completed the GED with an overall score of at least 2,550 points and a minimum score of 510 points on each Subtest
Kansas Students over the age of 21:
- Graduated from an accredited high school OR
- Completed the GED with an overall score of at least 2,550 points and a minimum score of 510 points on each Subtest (for tests taken prior to January 1, 2002 an overall score of at least 250 points and a minimum score of 50 points on each Subtest)
Out-of-State Students from non-accredited high school or home school:
- Please contact the Office of Admission for information
Out-of-State Students over the age of 21:
- Graduated from an accredited high school AND one of the following:
- ACT composite score of 21 or higher (PSU code: 1449) OR
- Rank in the top 1/3 of high school graduating class OR
- Complete the pre-college curriculum (see above) with at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale OR
- Have 24 or more transferable college credit hours with at least a 2.0/4.0 cumulative grade point average
*There are provisions for a small number of exceptions to the qualified admission standards above. If a student does not meet any of the requirements listed, the admission application will be reviewed individually before an admission decision is made.
