Transfer Pitt C.A.R.E.S. (Campus Advisement, Registration, and Enrollment Services) allows transfer students to meet with an academic advisor, participate in early enrollment, and check their financial aid status. Although Transfer Pitt C.A.R.E.S. is not required, it is highly recommended for the best selection of classes. Transfer Pitt C.A.R.E.S. is held in November for new transfer students entering in the spring semester and in April for new transfer students entering in the summer or fall semesters. Registration materials are sent approximately one month prior to the event to transfer students who have applied and been accepted to Pitt State.

For transfer students unable to attend Transfer Pitt CARES on April 21 or 22, 2008, please note the follow steps to enroll for the fall 2008 semester:

1) contact the admission office (1-800-854-7488) to obtain the phone number for your academic department,

2) call your academic department to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor to enroll, and

3) plan to stop by the admission office approximately 15 minutes prior to your academic appointment to pick up advising and other information that will be beneficial to both you and your advisor.

Generally, academic departments have advisors available while classes are in session.

The spring 2008 semester ends Friday, May 16. The summer session begins June 10 and concludes August 1. Advising is somewhat limited during the summer session and your flexibility is appreciated.

Open enrollment for the fall 2008 semester is August 4 -22. Advisors will be available in the Office of Admission during this three-week period. All new students who are not enrolled by this time will be enrolled in Admission. Appointments for open enrollment are not required. Advisors will be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

For students entering in the spring of 2009:

Monday, November 10, 2008 or
