Banana Bucks and Bank Accounts

The Banana Bucks Account is a prepaid stored value program that allows funds to be loaded onto the Gorilla ID Card. The balance carries over from semester to semester with no hidden fees or costs. With Banana Bucks, you get the convenience of cash without the need to carry a pocket full of coins. To receive a refund for Banana Bucks you must be graduating or withdrawing from the University and the balance must be greater than $10. You must complete a refund request form at the Gorilla Card Office to receive the balance.

Banana Bucks can be used at locations all around campus, including the laundry machines in the residence halls, the bookstore, at the ticket office, restaurants in the Student Center, for copying and printing in the library and computer labs and in vending machines around campus.

To add money to your student's account, you can mail a check to the University ID and Ticket Office (or directly to your student!). Please make sure your student's ID number is on the check to ensure the amount is credited to the correct account.

Student bank accounts with debit cards that work in the same way as Banana Bucks are offered through Commerce Bank.
