Group Campus Visits

The Pittsburg State Admission Office is pleased to host campus visits geared toward groups of college-bound students.  Group visits are a great way for students to experience our student-friendly campus and learn more about both academic and co-curricular opportunities available at Pitt State.  Please read the information below to learn more about our group visit opportunities and for scheduling instructions.

General Guidelines

  • High School or College age students.
  • Types of Groups:  Schools, TRIO, AVID.
  • Six or more students in the group.
  • Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance.
  • Groups must provide at least one chaperon for every 15 students.
  • To get the most out of a visit, students are expected to be attentive and courteous while on campus.
  • We regret that Pittsburg State University is NOT able to cover the costs of meals.
  • Please no more that 100 students per group.

Visit Dates

Visits are generally 2 hours, but can vary depending on scheduled activities.  Depending on time of year, some requested activities may not be possible due to limited Faculty/Staff on campus.  Groups are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, and do fill quickly.  Only one group can be scheduled per day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 9:00, 10:00, or 11:00.  To schedule your group visit, select a day from the calendar below.  Please complete the group visit registration form.  An Admission Representative will contact you to confirm your visit.

We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your visit.Please keep in mind that a visit agenda cannot be guaranteed for groups that arrive more than 15 minutes late.  Please call 620-235-4251 when you are 10 minutes from campus and an Admission Representative will meet you at your arrival location.

Group Visit Options

Admission Presentation and Tour only.  All group visits include a 30-45 minute informational admission presentation and a 45-50 minute tour of PSU's main campus.  Students are encouraged to dress comfortably and appropriately for expected weather conditions.

Additional Activities.  Activities are offered depending upon availability.  We cannot guarantee they are available on your selected date.

Kansas Technology Center - 60 minute tour of the Kansas Technology Center and College of Technology.

Rec Center - 15 minute tour of the Student Recreation Center.

Plaster Center - 10 minute walk-through tour of the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Bicknell Center - 15-45 minute tour of the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.

Veteran's Memorial - 15-30 minute tour or presentation of Veteran's Memorial Amphitheater.

Student Diversity Presentation - 30 minute informational presentation by a representative from the Office of Student Diversity.

Student Financial Assistance Presentation - 30 minute informational presentation by a representative from the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Lunch Options

Gibson Dining Hall.  Gibson Dining Hall is a favorite part of any campus visit!  Dining hall meals are "all you care to eat" and include a wide variety of dishes.  Lunch is $6.75 per person in Gibson Dining Hall.  We regret that Pittsburg State University is NOT able to cover the cost of meals.  Gibson Dining Hall is only available when PSU classes are in session.

Have a picnic.  You can request Gorilla Village and bring your own lunch.

Off Campus Dining.   Select this option if you are not eating lunch on-campus.
