Transfer Pitt C.A.R.E.S. (Campus Advisement, Registration, and Enrollment Services) allows transfer students to meet with an academic advisor, participate in early enrollment, and check their financial aid status. Although Transfer Pitt C.A.R.E.S. is not required, it is highly recommended for the best selection of classes. Transfer Pitt C.A.R.E.S. is held in November for new transfer students entering in the spring semester and in April for new transfer students entering in the summer or fall semesters. Registration materials are sent approximately one month prior to the event to transfer students who have applied and been accepted to Pitt State.

To register for Pitt C.A.R.E.S. for Transfer Students, you must meet all of the following criteria:

1) Admitted to PSU as a transfer student

2) Completed a minimum of 24 college credit hours after high school graduation

3) Graduated from high school before 2012

Students attending C.A.R.E.S. have two options. Option 1 (beginning at 8:30 a.m.) includes presentations by PSU student services professionals, such as Career Services, Campus Activities and Student Health Center, plus advisement and enrollment. Option 2 (beginning at 10:15 a.m.) is advisement and enrollment only

For students entering in the summer or fall of 2012:

Monday, April 16, 2012
Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Students unable to attend Transfer Pitt CARES can enroll beginning April 18th by following these instructions:

1) contact the Admission Office (1-800-854-7488) to obtain the phone number for your academic department,

2) call your academic department to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor to enroll, and

3) plan to stop by the Admission Office approximately 15 minutes prior to your academic appointment to pick up advising and other information that will be beneficial to both you and your advisor.

Generally, academic departments have advisors available while classes are in session.

Transitions UGS 101

Transitions is a six-week, one-credit hour course designed to assist students in making a smooth transition to Pittsburg State University.

The goal of the Transitions course is to provide transfer students the opportunity to interact with students who are sharing in their same experiences. Students who participate are trained in the use of the university-wide enrollment system (GUS), are exposed to a wide range of campus activities, are introduced to community services and amenities, and are informed of campus services and resources.

Transitions is available in the fall and spring semesters and is recommended for all transfer students.
