My travel territory: Pittsburg High School, Frontenac High School, St. Mary's Colgan
My hometown: Raytown, MO
My favorite thing about Pitt State: Pittsburg State has a great looking campus and it can never hurt to go to school surrounded by that! It was a wonderful experience for me going to college in Pittsburg too. Like some of you, I grew up in a large city, but I still found Pittsburg to have plenty of fun things to do. Best of all, the entire town loves the Gorillas and supports PSU in many ways. You will hear many people say that they love Pittsburg State University because of its size. It's small enough that you don't get lost in the shuffle, but large enough that there will always be plenty to get involved in. Another wonderful thing about the size is the fact that you can really get to know your professors on a personal level. Nearly 10 years after my graduation from college, I am still close friends with a number of my professors from college. Becoming a Gorilla was the best move I ever made!
Organizations I was involved in: Sigma Chi Fraternity, Student Association of Broadcasters, University Choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Public Relations/Advertising Club, and Intramural Sports.
A little about me: I have worked in the University setting for the past 10 years; at a public radio station, as an admission counselor, Assistant Director of Campus Activities, Associate Director of Alumni Relations, Assistant Director of Admission and now as Associate Director of Admission. Working with high school and college students is the best part of this job and why I made the switch back to Admissions.
