Enroll at Pitt State

The first step to enrolling at Pittsburg State University is to be accepted for admission.  Applying for admission is easy!  You will receive information regarding your admission status approximately two weeks after you have submitted your application.

If you are already admitted, CONGRATULATIONS!  Your hard work and dedication make you a perfect fit for Pitt State.  We are excited to see you on campus.

At Pitt State, we care about your success and want your transition to be a smooth one.  The "To Do" List for Admitted Students will help get you started.

Step #1  Complete your Admission file.  Request that your final transcript(s) be sent directly to PSU.

Step #2  Apply for financial aid, if you haven't already.  This includes completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the PSU Scholarship Application

Step #3  Confirm your housing arrangements.  University Housing will send housing contracts in February to all new freshmen.  Submit the contract early!

Step #4  Register for your GUS account.  GUS stands for "Gorilla User System" and allows you to update personal information, review financial aid awards and receive financial aid file updates.  Use the GUS LOGIN KEY that you received by mail to register.

Step #5  Consider attending one of our spring receptions especially for admitted students.  Our spring receptions provide admitted students with specific information and details as they make final decisions.

Step #6  Register to attend Pitt C.A.R.E.S. the PSU orientation program for new students.  At Pitt C.A.R.E.S. students are introduced to college life at PSU and, most importantly, enroll for the upcoming semester.  Registration information is sent to new freshmen in April and sent to new transfer students in October or March depending on the semester they plan to attend.

Enrollment dates for Non-degree seeking students or students who are not coming directly from high school or another institution may vary.  Contact us for more information.

Step #7  Prepare to move into your Residence Hall and to the 'Burg!

Step #8  Get ready for your first day of classes!

Step #9  Participate in Off-2-PSU, a week (or more!) long event to welcome new students!

Enrolling at PSU is not just one event, but instead a series of fun, informative activities designed to help you succeed in and out of the classroom.  For more information regarding activities designed for new students, visit First-Year Programs!
