My travel territory: Northeast Kansas and the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area

My hometown:  DeSoto, Kansas

My favorite thing about Pitt State:  I think it's the perfect size for any student.  We have a little over 7,000 students, more than 100 academic majors and student organizations and excellent athletic programs, so it feels like a "big school" in that respect.  However, with a student to teacher ratio of 18:1, students get the personal attention of a small school.  Plus, everyone loves to be a gorilla!!

Why I decided to attend Pitt State:  I chose PSU for a variety of reasons.  Besides the size, I loved the university's distance from home.  For me, being 2-3 hours from home was just right:  close enough, but not too close!  And, what sealed the deal for me was my campus visit.  When I toured Pitt State with my parents, I saw how beautiful campus was and how much pride the students and staff had.  People were so friendly to us, and I could tell they honestly cared about me - and my success!

Organizations I was involved in: Honors College, University Student Ambassadors, Student Foundation Board, Public Relations/Advertising Club, Marketing Association, Spanish Club, Senior Gift Council, President's Advisory Group, Student Publications (Copy Editor), PITT C.A.R.E.S. Leader, Intramural sports, numerous honor societies and a social sorority
