Black Student Association (BSA)

Mission:

The mission of the Black Student Association (BSA) at Pittsburg State University is to provide a support network for the Black community at PSU and to provide cultural enrichment for the campus and the community at large.

What BSA brings to the PSU campus:

Providing a means of academic progress and study breaks.

  • Raising the political consciousness of Blacks at PSU and the community at large in such ways as forum discussions.
  • Increasing the awareness of the general PSU community to significant events and issues impacting the Black community through sponsoring programs celebrating such events as Black History Month, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday and others.
  • Finding and implementing ways to assist the economic and social development of Black communities in ways such as volunteering as tutors or serving as mentors.
