About IMASC

The IMASC is an extension of the professional organization and sponsored by the Joplin Tri-State chapter of the IMA. The chapter hosts several speakers and meetings throughout the semester, as well as hosting an annual golf tournament, and the Student Leadership Conference.

The golf tournament is in its tenth year. The annual two man scramble style tournament pairs a student with a recruiting member of the corporate sponsors to compete for prizes and bragging rights. It also features a luncheon and social gathering for the students and corporate sponsors. The tournament serves as an excellent networking tool, and its a lot of fun.

The Student Leadership Conference is an annual meeting held by the National IMA. It is designed to inform, promote, and familiarize student leaders of the organization with professional conference attendance as well as getting them acquainted with many influential and prominent business executives from across the country and throughout the field of accounting. These annual meetings are held in the fall semester and sponsored in cities which have included Las Vegas, NV; San Antonio, TX; and Orlando, FL. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn, socialize, and network with professionals in the accounting field.

The IMASC also holds several fundraisers during the fall and spring semester to help fund these activities. Corporate sponsorship of the golf tournament and the fundraising activities of the student organization have made the IMASC the success it is today.
