Department of History

Aegean Sea MapHistory is more than names and dates. Historians seek to know how kings and everyday people lived, believed and dreamed. There are historians of science, of ideas, of every region on the globe, and of every era.

The Department of History offers undergraduate programs leading to the Bachelor of Science in Education and Bachelor of Arts degrees. Typically, students interested in teaching history/social studies at the high school or middle school level select the Bachelor of Science in Education, while those seeking a general liberal arts foundation for careers in business and law or advanced degrees in history choose the B.A. degree.
